The site links to , but the site simply says “Website Coming Soon.” What’s interesting about the new site is that it also introduces us to Kaslan, the apparent maker of the Buddi doll, which appears to be like a Google or Amazon in the new Child’s Play universe and the maker of smart home devices and similar products. And like we learned from the horror short Whisper, there’s nothing more terrifying than something evil messing with your smart devices. Beyond being a super sophisticated piece of tech, like so many devices these days, Buddi can connect to virtually any of your smart home devices. In the new movie, Chucky is a Buddi doll who is a product in a line full of devices made to sync up to the cloud and work together to make its consumers lives easier. While there has been a lot of backlash about the Child’s Play remake, the new details around the modernization of the doll could make for a really interesting film. Buddi has all the modern amenities we’ve come to expect in kids toys these days cloud-backed voice recognition, sophisticated algorithms, high resolution image recognition, and so much more, but most importantly he wants to be your best friend. On a new website promoting the film,, Orion Pictures shares all the details on Buddi, the modern take on the classic “Good Guy Doll” from the original Child’s Play franchise. At the Kaslan Industries Buddi assembly factory in Vietnam, an employee is chastised and fired by his supervisor for insufficient work. My gut tells me that the makers of the Child’s Play remake were very much aware of this phenomenon and leveraged it when developing the new film, which is why they’re introducing us to Buddi. The Buddi dolls can connect to the owners’ electronics system and adapt to their routines to help them in their day-to-day lives. He has two romantic encounters and the audience gets to relive these tales, until the climax throws in a complete surprise. So he decides to get the new Buddi 3 to help him cope with the past, unaware that Chucky is still roaming around, and about to continue his carnage.If you grew up in the 80’s you probably remember the Hasbro doll “My Buddy.” Released in 1985, three years ahead of the first Child’s Play, it became the real life source of nightmares for kids who were aware of the film’s Chucky and either owned a “My Buddy” or knew someone who did. Crime Drama Romance The film tells the story of Sodabuddi, who spends his life wastefully. Two years after the events of the first film, Andy Barclay has been going through therapy to get over his past with Chucky. Judd Apatow is producing the yet-to-be-titled film. The cast of the new film seem to like the script that was given to them, including Mark Hamill, who was all for a Child's Play sequel. Universal Pictures has acquired a buddy comedy from the writing trio, with plans to release the movie in theaters on Aug. The script has been written since back in July of 2020, while having it altered of course over time. The film hasn't been struggling with production issues of as of today. The last film was shot in Vancouver, and now is given more opportunity when it comes to filming in such a big place in the US. Production began in September 21st, 2021 and was announced a week ahead of time that the film will be shot in Wilmington, NC. Other returing actors include Bryan Tyree Henry, Tim Matheson, Ty Consligio, and Beatrice Kitsos. Like Mark Hamill as Chucky himself, Gabriel Bateman as Andy Barclay, and Aubrey Plaza as Andy's mother, Karen. Most of the actors from the first film will return to their roles for the sequel. Lars Klevberg is once again writing and directing this sequel to the 2019 Child's Play, David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith return as producers, and Bear McCeary will return for the score. MGM (the distributor of the 2019 Child's Play) gave the team the right budget, and was originally supposed to release in October 2021, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was pushed back to November 2022, and the film is now scheduled to release during that time. ![]() Child's Play 2 was announced in late 2019, when director Lars Klevberg said he'd love to do a sequel if the team was able to.
